Detailed mountain Rwenzori trekking expeditions & wildlife tours

Day 1 transfer to mtn. Rwenzori park headquarters

On arrival, you will picked up by our guide and proceed to the foothills of the Rwenzori mountain and wait for the next day’s adventure through and beyond Rwenzori mountain national park to the snow capped peaks.

Accommodation: Hotel Margherita (or a similar one)

The 6 day trek to Hunwick’s camp 3,974m at the base of Mt. Baker over Bamwanjara pass 4,450m where, on a clear day offers fantastic views of Mt. Stanley, Mt. Speke and Mt. Baker with McConnells Prong in the fore. The trail from Kilembe takes you through the montane forest to Sine camp then up through the bamboo zone to the heather zone and cross the Alpine zone to Bugata camp at 4,062m. From here you climb up and over Bamwanjara pass at 4,450m and down the amazing Kacholpe valley with its unique dense vegetation and hundreds of scarlet tuffed malachite sunbirds. On the way back you climb over Oliver’s Pass with more spectacular views and walk down the beautiful Nyamwamba valley back to the park gate.

Queen Elizabeth national park is one of Uganda’s most entertaining and concentrated game parks with more than 660 bird species, more than 5,000 hippos, a lion sanctuary, leopards, elephant and buffalo herds, antelopes, giraffes, lodges and mountain Rwenzori range sceneries. During your stay in the park, you will enjoy wilderness game drives, boat cruise, crater lakes walk among others.

Accommodation: Ishasha wilderness camp lodge (or a similar one)

Part of this 11 days Rwenzori trekking expedition is the amazing chimpanzee tracking tour in Kalinzu forest reserve along with black & white colobus monkeys, red colobus monkeys, numerous bird species & reptiles during the forest walk.

Day 11 transfer to Kampala and departure

Finally, you’ll head to Kampala to booked accommodation for relaxation moments before embarking to your departure flights.
