Mountain gorillas are a sub species of the eastern gorillas uniquely known for living in high altitude montane forests. Mountain gorillas are only found in Bwindi Impenetrable forest national park in Uganda and the Virunga massif which forms a border point amongst Rwanda, Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The 3 hours requires you to have slept over in Kigali or a very morning arrival to allow you catch up with the trek. The other option is to arrive and travel to stay at a lodge near Uganda’s gorilla tracking park and wake up to head to the park headquarters.
