Camping safaris and trips

This eco-friendly activity allows you co-exist with nature in a protective tent structure for a night or nights in the midst of the wild parks or nature’s geographical features such as rivers, lakes and mountains thus making this activity range from leisure to a wild recreation activity. Tented camping will allow you to connect with nature away from the urban set up of life. These tents can be a one man sized tent, two men sized with separate bush bathrooms or large walk-in built tents with two beds, mattresses, pillows, blankets, spacious and with in-built toilets all available depending on your budget along with many different luxury amenities that are meant to give you maximum comfort while at your camping safari. Different game parks have well protected gazetted campsites that are assigned for the campers with experienced guides and rangers in place for your safety.
Camping becomes more interesting along with other activities you choose to accompany it with depending on where you’ve camped. These will range from trekking, game drives, mountain biking, surfing, spot fishing, canoeing among others. In case you want to physically engage in your camping safari trip the following is a list of equipment that you should come along:
- Sleeping bag and/or blankets for warmth
- Sleeping pad or air mattress to be placed underneath the sleeping bag for cushioning from stones and twigs, as well as for insulation from the ground
- Lantern or flashlight
- Fire starter for starting a campfire
- Folding chairs for placement around a campfire
- Ropes for stringing clothes line and for securing the shelter
- Tarp for adding a layer of storm protection to a tent, and to shelter dining areas
- Raincoat or poncho
- Hiking boots
- Canteen (bottle)
- Chuck box to hold camp kitchen items for food preparation, consumption, and cleanup
- Trash bags, for the handling of waste; see leave no trace
- Cathole trowel for sanitation in areas where a toilet is not provided
- Insect repellent
- Sunscreen for protecting skin
- rope for climbing or in case someone gets stuck
- Personal care products and towel
- Cooler to store perishables and beverages.
- Bottled water or portable water filter for areas that have access to rivers or lakes
- Cooking implements such as a tripod chained grill, Dutch oven, or La Cotta clay pot can be used for cooking on a campfire. A portable stove can be used where campfires are forbidden or impractical. If using a campground with electricity, an electric frying pan or slow cooker can be used.
